LDC was hired by the City of Seattle to perform surveying, construction staking, and monitoring of a 2.05 million gallon (MG) underground storage tank and facility vault with mechanical and electrical equipment. The project included construction staking of a 2,250-foot-long gravity sewer, parallel force main, and motor-operated gates to control the flow of wastewater into the tank beneath NE 65th Street and Sand Point Way. Our team utilized high precision assets and pile monitoring along new facilities and produced the final detailed as-built.

Going Above the Standard

LDC implemented a monitoring program that provided repeatable results using the most efficient measuring tools available. This included an extensive surface monitoring program that provided the continual settlement monitoring of permanent monitoring points during construction of pipeline, tunnels, soldier piles, and other critical structural components. The tolerances were 0.02’ both horizontally and vertically.
