LDC was hired by the Washington State Department of Commerce to lead the Collaborative Roadmap Phase III project. Phase III is a two-year project, focused on updates to the state’s growth policy framework including the Growth Management Act, State Environmental Policy Act, and other related statutes. The project includes facilitation of a diverse task force which is making recommendations to the legislature on changes to our growth policy framework. The inclusive and comprehensive process has ensured underrepresented individuals and groups often impacted by land use changes have had a strong voice. Learn more about the project here.

Going Above the Standard

LDC brought a deep understanding of our state growth policy framework, vast experience working on legislative issues, and an ability to listen to the perspectives of stakeholders with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. The successful collaboration and work in 2022 has resulted in 14 separate Task Force recommendations, which are being taken up during the 2023 legislative session.
