LDC designed a new telecommunications facility for the Hoodoo Ski Area in Sisters, Oregon. By providing Above the Standard service, our client was able to serve customers for the 2018 ski season. As part of this project, LDC designed the location for a new 100’ monopole and 24’x40’ equipment building to replace the existing 60’ self-support tower and existing 24’x24’ wood structure. To keep functioning service during construction, we also designed a temporary site plan to utilize four Cell-On-Wheels with routing for power until the new tower and building could be built.

LDC performed as the lead in planning, engineering and design. This included survey, architectural, and civil engineering services over a two-year period due to the high elevation and limited access availability.

Going Above the Standard

Located at the top of a ski hill, the Hoodoo Butte location and light gauge equipment shelter design made for a unique project challenge. However, our team was able to realize significant cost savings for our client by designing and building a light gauge building over purchasing and delivering a pre-manufactured building to the top of the mountain.
