LDC has been hired to assist the City of Snohomish with the development of a Middle Housing Analysis. This project includes the development and implementation of an engagement plan that will include website development, project surveys, community events, and working with the Planning Commission and City Council. The focus will be on opportunities the city could consider to facilitate more middle housing while maintaining the community character that makes Snohomish so special. Our engagement will include a racial equity analysis as well as an analysis and policy recommendations to address anti-displacement and disparate impacts in housing. We will prepare a report summarizing the options the city could consider in the future to support middle housing. This is a proactive planning process to help ensure that growth occurs in a way that meets the needs of the community and fits the values of the city.

Going Above the Standard

LDC is focused on finding a menu of options that the city could consider to provide opportunities for more middle housing in the city. We are focused on finding creative options, which recognize the uniqueness of the city and the character that makes the city so special. What works in one community may not work in another. We recognize this and ensure this is engrained into our work.
